Summer 2010

This summer, the SDSM&T Robotics Team hopes to begin work on a GPS and SLAM-based outdoor autonomous robot.

The first goal of the project is GPS-only navigation, followed by an implementation of SLAM using stereoscopic cameras to navigate around obstacles autonomously.

More details as the project develops.

Competition

Despite not placing at this year's competition, the amount that was learned was immense. The team's dedication was obvious in the long hours spent working on the robot. As a young team, we will have many more opportunities to succeed in competition in years to come. Expect next year to be a different story. Thanks to our sponsors for their continued support and a special thanks to Dakota Trailways for being an extremely accommodating transportation provider.

Arrival

After a solid 20 hour bus ride down to Grapevine, TX, the Robotics Team have found themselves at the Gaylord Texan Hotel. It will be a long night of coding and debugging, but we hope to come out on top.

Expect more pictures soon.
